Visibility could be improved (I own a 3dr Grande Punto). The sexy Italian styling means chunky C-Pillars and tapering rear windows make blindspot mirrors a necessity! The boot is also quite small and the nose/front overhang is a little long, again because of the quasi-Maserati design. Also, the rear window heater button decided to break itself during the snowy December period when I didn't drive it once. Also whilst the build quality is decent, some of the materials are shamefully cheap-feeling, the windscreen pillar in particular, and some plastic trim next to the accelerator pedal has come a little loose after I caught my foot on it.

Don't get me wrong though, I love it. A nice long 3rd gear (15mph up to about 50, I'd wager), and despite only being the short-lived 1.2 version, it's plenty punchy enough for when the mood takes you. A very tight turning circle and Fiat's dual-mode PAS with 'City' steering mode make it both a joy for whizzing round small roundabouts and an easy car to park - if you can see where you're reversing. It's not a car I was planning to buy, but in some ways I'm glad I did.

I would not buy another Grande Punto again! I have had the car 29 months and it has been in the garage atleast 12 times. it has had:
new gearbox,
new ECU
new indicator / wiper stalks
new EGR valve (x4)
new suspension all round
new blue&me unit x3
new front brakes disks and pads due to faulty build
new air flow sensor
Atleast i got a free service and an extended years warranty from Stoneacre. I have to say they have been very helpful!

Fiat have come in for alot of criticism over the years, but between us we have had 6 Punto's with little or no problems, they are good value for money with a good selection of standard options, if only some dealers improved so would customer satisfaction, and if some manufacturers didn't fleece their customers I'm sure Fiat would increase their market share overall.

Great car for the price. Well equiped, Pleasure to drive on long journeys and has excellent fuel ecomomy to match. Although the handling isnt great and the ride is crashy on uneven roads. Excellent engine. Has been very reliable, although a few small niggly faults (mainly rattles).

Excellent car and great value, especially when you consider the brand image which Fiat has. The car has never given us any problems and cost us just over £5000 cash with 9k miles on the clock!
Does exactly what it says on the tin!...

A very under rated car.
Reliable, cheap, good build quality and strong performance with low insurance group.
Plenty of standard features such as handsfree bluetooth.
Dealer was exceptional - i have never had a better service.

Good reliable car, very good value for money, not the best materials inside the car.
Very happy with the car and it looks good from any angle, should have had the alloys??
