04-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

bad engine with many known faults, handles badly in snow etc, much worse than i expected considering the weight and size. constant problems with the tail lights, poor design makes them difficult to change and they are prone to repeat faults. the gearbox is on its way out after only half the expected life of the car and i have had electrical engine management faults and a repeating cruise control fault. Poorly thought out, badly built with an unreliable engine and gearbox.

Only had the front spring fracture at about 45k miles. supose to be a common problem with the model. got it fixed at dealer in uk. the french I had my car routinely servoced knew nothing about the problem and did a botched job by changing the front anti-roll bar instead. hence uk dealer is more knowledgable. Good mileage for the power output but a bit outdated and very high carbon means high road tax. other than just spent money on routine servicing.

T-reg Petrol, Owner for More than 5 years

Very good fuel consumption, very reliable - never let me down. Regular maintenance is vital.
2 non-critical problems.
1)Clock display illumination failed, difficult to get to so expensive repair.
2)There had been a water leak in the boot area that was a factory fault, my mechanic found it after a lot of work.
Overall, my particular car has been a joy for the 7+ years that it has been owned by me and would happily buy another Vectra!

Reliability: 5/5 Build Quality: 4/5
51-reg Petrol, Owner for More than 5 years

My model is the SRi 150 which I considered to be the best model in the old Vectra model range. Whilst not as powerful as the V6 the 2.2 Lotus designed engine is thoroughly reliable and has excellent low-end torque which both gives brisk acceleration and easy cruising. Jeremy Clarkson had obviously never driven the SRi 150 as it is far from boring and a pleasure to drive and his comments about the Vectra simply do NOT apply to this model !

2006-reg Diesel, Owner for more than 5 years

Very reliable.alternator has been replaced twice, once under warranty second time with an uprated charging cicuit board which is a known fault with vectras. Easy to maintain as I self service the car and afull service costs around ł40 for parts.it's diesel so very econimcal especially for an estate.fully loaded with 5 of a family,2 dogs and suitcases it still returns 44 to the gallon.

06-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

very happy with cars overall service over almost three years. The only problems encountered was a faulty steeriing rack pump and a broken front spring which I would blame on poor road maintainance than the cars fault.I would also like to add that all repairs were carried under warranty in a prompt and efficient manner by my local vauxhall dealers C Hursts Lisburn Co Antrim.

Reliability: 4/5 Build Quality: 4/5
06-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Aspects have disappointed me regarding this car. A persistant oil leak and fundamental problems with the engine design, EGR valve problems, causing inlet manifold problems. Over £700 to repair on a car with less then 50k miles. When running well it is difficult to fault, as comfortable, good performance and economical, but problems have tainted ownership experience.

Reliability: 2/5 Build Quality: 2/5
57-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

I got this car to be a work horse....thats what it is. Its not a car i would buy for pleasure, saying that i am imprest with its handleing, it holds the road well......poor in the snow, no traction at all!! I have owned a vauxhall before and had endless amounts of problems..even after warrenty, should of listened to my self before buying this car......never again!

Reliability: 4/5 Build Quality: 3/5
54-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Basically a good car let down by reliability issues mainly with the Dualmass Flywheel assembly. One flywheel being required every 30000 miles! Some were fixed under warrenty others not. They eventually damaged the gearbox requiring a rebuild! So far 4 flywheels have been fitted runnung at 2 a piece between me and Vauxhall.

2007-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

No problems with the car except I had to change the battery but the car is over 6 years old so that was to be expected. If I drive sensibly I can achieve over 38+ mpg which is not too bad for a car over 6 years old. vauxhall spare parts and servicing prices are very well priced.

Reliability: 5/5 Build Quality: 2/5

im very happy with my car, like all cars they do have minor faults happen here nor there but when they happen i get them sorted stright away, it has never broken down on me since ive owned the car and all the problems ive had are ones which i have spotted and sorted out

Everything on the suspension has worn out or borken (prings). in last 3 years every suspension/steering component has been changed. on front/rear. Converted to lpg - paying 65p/ltr currently. had no issues with lpg system. suspopension/steerign costs high though.

I was very happy with the car, (2nd hand with a few silly little scatches). I like the power from its 1.8l engine & the size of the Vectra. But after 3/4months the gearbox destroyed itself costing over £1000 to repair. This will make me rethink my car future...

Only had one problem, soon after purchae n/s front cil spring broke, dealer fixed with charge. no problems since. Mileage is low and only prob is one electronic key fob does not always work and have been told it will cost ł250 to replace, so have not bothered.

Reliability: 5/5 Build Quality: 5/5
2004-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Not conspicuously reliable, but I suspect that this has been exacerbated by a failure to carry out regular servicing correctly, when it was my company car, prior to my purcasing it. Fuel economy excellent; cost of spare parts needed for repairs high.

Reliability: 2/5 Build Quality: 5/5
04-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

V poor cabin storage. Plenty of it but difficult to fit a phone in anywhere with ease, door pockets awkward to get things out of when driving. Cargo space v good (est), seat folding good, R space good.
Overall OK for what it is but nothing special.

Reliability: 2/5 Build Quality: 3/5
07-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

I am very happy with the Vectra, but was dissappointed that the gearbox needed replacing within the first 2 years, was not happy with the fault diagnosis either, if this was a private car then the costs would have been difficult

Reliability: 4/5 Build Quality: 4/5

Good starter good runner too only thing wrong with my car is a censer which I can not find so my choke will not cut in. Just the fuel cost with the price of fuel I have not spent much els on my car over the last three years.
