RECOMMENDED Aimed squarely at arch rival CTEK’s 3.6 – and the Ring 130Ah SmartCharge +4 is a real threat to its dominance. Not only is it well made, the stylish three-stage charger featured a soft-start function and worked well, defaulting to the 2A rate (although 4A could be selected manually). A permanent battery connection is a £4.99 option, which evens out the price. The croc clips were low-rent and only partially insulated, but it was still close between this newcomer and our CTEK Best Buy.
