2008-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Minor issues with seatbelt clip but recalled and replaced. alloy wheels refurbished several times due to road salt erosion. by the looks of things it is a common problem with the audi 'split-rim'. Servicing is expensive due to the amount and type of oil the engine requires. tyres are also expensive but this was known when purchasing the vehicle. on a morotway run I see up to 40mpg. over a year with all running about and motorway use the car averages 35mpg.

Nothing has failed since new.totally reliable.build quality is superb. For a large 2ltr turbo petrol 4x4 car with the perfomance available the mpg is excellent.get 40+on long journeys.only had to have 1 service in 25k miles and that was a resonable price so overall good. next service not due for another 11k miles. no spare or replacement parts needed other that tyres at 24k.

2009-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

More or less perfect. a few minor niggles although at circa 67,000 miles the agr cooler failed and repair cost was ł1,650 but credit to audi was undertaken as an ex gratis warranty claim without being prompted. Servicing is expensive but I suppose to be expected from an audi main dealer.

Great looking but sadly way way way of the mark against the published fuel consumption figures by over 30% - this is just unacceptable and takes the whole shine off the car. The steering is also somewhat lacking against the like of BMW and Jaguar which were my previous two makes of car

I love my A5 - it is really distinctive and attracts a lot of admirers and comments...more than any other car I've owned. It feel it is really well built and is well finished. Fuel economy on my model is pretty short on that published and this has proved to be the only downside so far.

Parts fail that should not on a car this new and from a manufacturer with such a good reputation. Fuel consumption is too low, and the car service and tyre costs are higher than expected.

Has been back to the dealer 4x tyres with warning lights but has always started. Shocking mpg considering it is a 3lt diesel, issue that audi are still trying to sort out.
