Audi RS3 spied

Hot new Audi spotted testing in Germany ahead of Paris unveil.

Audi’s hottest hatch ever is almost ready and we have the best pictures yet of how the brand-new RS3 flagship will look.

Spied testing at the famous Nurburgring race circuit in Germany, the mule captured in the pictures is wearing an S3 Sportback shell, but don’t let this fool you, underneath, the RS version is a different beast altogether.

As well as Audi’s trademark Quattro four-wheel-drive system, it is expected that the RS3 will get a modified version of the same 2.5-litre, five-cylinder turbocharged engine found in the TT RS. As a result the RS3 will have no shortage of power, with over 330bhp and 450Nm of torque. The result of this will be a 0-60mph time of less than five seconds.

Mated to an S-tronic gearbox, the RS3 will also get a host of exterior additions over the S3, including a body kit, bonnet air-intakes and twin exhausts.

Expect Audi to unveil its new hot hatch in Paris this September. Expect a starting pricetag of around £38,000 too.

sorry, but i don't care how fast it can blast off the lights this car won't be "special" enough to part with £38,000 (plus the required £7000 of Audi options to complete the car)

I agree with dav01wat and also think that the A3 looks way past it's sell by date as compared to it's competition. Their seeming evolution rather than revolution design philosophy seems to be working against them. There are lots of other cars that look more exciting, and probably are, for less money.

Audi gmbh everywhere i have seen this car nobody likes this design - this must be very upsetting for you to have your flagship model being slated in this way - GOOD. Probably enough to say you might want to ...may be ...go back to the drawing board and bring something back which will be a winning design. Have a look at this one http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/... may jog some memories. A nickel's worth of advice is keep it simple like the Audi TT RS - subtle but ferocious when provoked.

I agree I thought this was an old design from a couple of years back, nothing new here so I agree with all the comments above!

And why does AE say 981, 3313, 1002 for example LIKED this artical, so bloody self appreciating, we looked at the artical not necessarily LIKED it!
