Position in the Top 100 cars: 28th

You don’t buy a sports coupé or Roadster for its versatility, so putting the TT’s poor practicality aside, it’s more than meeting owners’ expectations.

Handling, ride and brakes are all praised, but it’s the performance drivers love most, rating it sixth. What drags down the overall score is its lacklustre reliability and little better than average build quality.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position: 11th)

A solid showing sees Audi hold on to its 11th position. Drivers said their cars were the third best built in the country, while the maker was also in the top 10 in the braking and performance charts.

Love the car, and so does every one who's been in it. It's everything I expected it to be. Audi have done a great job with the ergonomics, making it easy to drive day to day and yet it's still focused enough to put a smile on your face when you want to push on. Exterior styling with the S-line package and Monza paint makes the car stand out from the crowd. Interior styling oozes quality and solidity. Of special note is the optional short shift gearbox in manual form, which allows slick changes at the flick of the wrist.
Would I buy another ?
You bet yer.
I've got another two on order, (I swap every 3 months) both of which have the 'Special Edition' package. S-line + 19" tinted alloys and Bose audio.

My car regularly was flat battery, which the local garage was unable to identify the cause of. The Audi Forum mentioned that earlier models had a problem with the dashboard wiring and after a campaign (including, I believe, Watchdog) Audi UK acknowledged the problem and offered to replace all cars with new dashboards. My car, however, was imported from Germany and they refused at first, to pay for anything. My local Audi dealer, however, was able to get the cost of the new dashboard refunded though and I ended up just paying labour costs. Haven't had any problems since!

Great little car, was cheap to buy, i think lots of people go for a tt, mine is a convertible, great in the summer etc butthen u realise that there's not enough room to bring your heavy coat in winter. A few of the dashboard lights have come on indicating some sort of problem, but they go off again and never seem to re-appear or the car suffer any problem, i've read that can happen on some forums. Great little car all in, and a lot nicer looking than the latest model.

This car was chosen by my wife she loves it. Im converted myself its mix of styling and performance is great in the real world. I have taken on a track day and was quite impressed at how it performed.
The most dissappointing aspect of the car for me is the Bose speaker sytem it doesnt perform as well as i expected. This car replaced a Clio 197 because that car spent alot of time at the dealers with really niggly faults. The Audi does feel well put together

great performance but Audi's build quality seems to me to be media hype. The car had a loose front wishbone which nearly came off which is immensely dangerous, the CD player had several issues breaking down and jamming, the seat belts stopped retracting, the engine had an issue where it would not run correctly at idle. Nothing at all is premium about the ownership experience over lesser brands. The car is not as good as my Mondeo!

Bought the car as a retirement present. I have always been a petrol head, but never bought a prestige make. Went to the Audi dealer with my wife to look at an A3. But lost my head with the look and drive of the TT Roadster. I spent more than I intended on a new diesel Model. (Had to wait 6 weeks to get one)
I can honestly say the car has lived up to all our expectation. We love it.

A really good car but it took loads of visits and about 6 Email as one of the cars extras I had purchased - a USB port just did not work and they were unable to get it working. Thay had to fit an Ipod attachment in my glove box, but I cannot see the track names on my screen.
Also - not really good at returning phone calls
