You don’t buy a sports coupé or Roadster for its versatility, so putting the TT’s poor practicality aside, it’s more than meeting owners’ expectations.

Handling, ride and brakes are all praised, but it’s the performance drivers love most, rating it sixth. What drags down the overall score is its lacklustre reliability and little better than average build quality.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position: 11th)

A solid showing sees Audi hold on to its 11th position. Drivers said their cars were the third best built in the country, while the maker was also in the top 10 in the braking and performance charts.

excellant styling, gets a lot of looks even though the model has been out for 3 years. fuel ecconomy got better after 5000 miles. the seats aren't the best in the world for long journeys but are supportive and grip you well, but most cars seats are designed for mr average and i'm 6'3". boot space is good for a coupe. it is hard to park the car in a space then be able to get out of it as the doors are very thick and long. could do with more toys as standard. options are expensive from audi

I love the TT, it is so much more practical than you would think due to the folding rear seats. The dealer happily fixed any issue under warranty which included sticking door handles, sticking spoiler and an engine misfire. The dealer did seem to take an expensive approach to warranty repairs though; rather than oiling the spoiler as i would have expect they replaced the whole unit which seemed unnecessary.

Great car, marred by poor visibility particularly over the shoulder, and dealer problems. Also, 4x4 drivers find it difficult to see because it is so low, especially when parking. Service from Audi dealers is very expensive, except for absolutely routine/standard servicing. They now charge for courtesy cars - a daily charge plus a mileage charge.

I absolutely adore it. When I had my daughter I thought I would have to get rid of it and the thought broke my heart, then a car seat specialist told me there was no reason why I couldn't have my daughter in the front as the car seat was just as safe so I'm so glad I get to keep my dream car!

Audi released the TT until 2003 with a known Dash Pod fault, no recall issued and they will not stand by the part unless the original owner. At £800 + it makes it an expensive fault, which should have been recalled... The only downside to owning a pre 2003 TT!

I adore my iconic wee motor. It suits my personality, the Bose sound system is fab, and, being a Quattro, it's even good in today's snow.
TT stands for 'tremendously trendy'.
PS My pupils love it too...they think it's 'cheeky'.

I love my TT - it's a limited edition Mk1 and I fantastic to drive.....the 1800 turbo engine is also reasonably economical for a car of this kind. No regrets buying it - would buy it again.

Audi TT 2.0 TDI quattro Coupe. The best car I've owned, absolutely brilliant car with a good size boot. Albeit it's just me and the wife now. Better than BMW 3 Series 2.0 Diesel.

The TT is the car I never knew I wanted until I bought it. It then has surpassed all and any of my expectations and I'm still in love with my TT. I intend to keep it for ever!!!

For a sports car, for two people, it has a suprising amount of boot space and is always fun to drive. Fairly economical as well, if not driven too enthusiastically!
