Latest images reveal luxury car's leviathan proportion

First came the teaser images... Now feast your eyes on the real thing!

As Bentley's stunning Arnage emerged from the shadows, one thing becaome imnediately clear to our spy photographers. This car is simply huge.

Though covered in disguise, these images are among the clearest yet of the newcomer. Grainy detail images of an undisguised model have also surfaced - but only these pictures tell the full story of this car's true character.

Expected to be at least 30cm longer than the current model, redesigned parts also include the front bumper, rear end and tailpipes.

Called Project Kimberley internally, the new car will use the next generation of Bentley's petrol-fuelled 6.75-liter V8 engine, which will produce over 550 horsepower and up to 1000Nm of torque.

This should allow the all-wheel drive limo to reach a top speed of about 200mph.

Eventually, the company may also release diesel and hybrid models of the vehicle. Bentley is not planning to release a long-wheelbase version of the new car, which will likely surprise many potential customers.

The all-new Grand Bentley will debut at the 2009 Concours D'Elegance in Pebble Beach, California, on August 16th. Likely pricing should be around £250,000 for each example.
