Aston Martin Valkyrie - Best hypercars

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is a 6.5-litre V12 F1-inspired hypercar for the road, and no, you are not dreaming

Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing first announced plans to build the Valkyrie way back in 2016, and it took until November 2021 to get the car into production. The wait was worth it, though, as this is one of the most impressive cars the British firm has ever built.

The Valkyrie is powered by a Cosworth-built 6.5-litre V12 with an F1-style hybrid system, capable of delivering 1,000bhp to the rear wheels and revving to an incredible 11,100rpm. While the Valkyrie may technically be a road car, just 150 examples are being made at a cost of between £2m and £3m per unit, so don’t expect to see any in the local Asda car park.

On top of the road-going version, there is also a track-only model, the AMR Pro is an extreme evolution of the Valkyrie Le Mans racer concept and features a longer wheelbase, wide track chassis and a unique aerodynamic package designed to be capable of lapping the 24H Le Mans circuit in 3 minutes 20 seconds. Even more exclusive than the standard Valkyrie, AMR Pro has a  production run of just 40 cars plus two prototypes - it’s also a track specific hypercar so the likelihood of seeing one stuck in traffic is very slim indeed.
