Truely an impressive vehicle,. Whilst run flat tyres come as standard, they do provide a harder ride than I was expecting. However this does not detract from the true performanc of this impressive sporting rag top !

Apart from requiring new battery post purchase (a common need for Z4's I understand ) this car has truly lived up to expectations , with excellent handling , good equipment levels and terrific looks. You would have to fork out £44000 for a new Z4 (with the folding hard top ) to make a dent on its fun factor ! .

Overall I would recommend the Z4 to anyone as a 2nd vehicle (or even daily hack ) as its truly , great to own and at 2nd hand prices ...why spend more !..Kind regards...Hugh Brazier

Very practical for the type of car it is (a 2-seat convertible) due to big boot and plenty of storage. Interior design excellent but a few rattles, more than any other BMW model I've been in. Refinement is amazing - quieter inside than other hatchbacks I've owned, despite the fabric roof. Performance is superb and ecomony is superb given that performance. Ride quality is poor on the UK's roads though but is helped by changing to non-runflat tyres. Styling is superb - Chris Bangle was unappreciated!!! Problem question related to snapped rear springs (suspension) which is a very common fault which BMW don't recognise - replacement springs cheap/easy to fit yourself though.

We had the Z4 Coupe 3.0si Sport.

Superb car, very stylish and great fun to drive. Hugely impressive blend of performance/economy with the car regularly returning well over 30mpg despite 150mph+ ability. Now well over 50k miles on the clock, and it still feels very solid and dependable. Biggest fault? Ride quality is rather harsh, a problem alleviated by switching to non-runflat tyres.

Rear spring failure is a problem. Both broke within a week at c 20,000 miles. The runflat tyres are a comfort killer although the grip is good [Bridgestones] but they are utterly useless in snow, ice and slush. Tram-llning of the front tyres is also a problem. OK car for the motorway or for continental roads but not for UK.

Briliant build quality and comfort. Acceleration and handling is great and the voice of the 6-cylinder engine is angelic yet-develish with the roof down. The cabin comfort makes the car feel as mucha grand tourer as it does a sports car, but ride comfort and practicality for a car of this class is second to none.

I have had a few minor issues withe leeks and the windows not opening / closing properly. also a wing mirror cracked under cold temperatures. I don't really give the running costs of my car much consideration, hence my in between score for this particular question.

A true all-rounder. Awesome performance for reasonable running costs and practicality. Ever reliable and brings a smile every time its driven. Tough to replace.

Great roadster, super drive and I can still get golf clubs in the boot with the roof down. Everything I expect from a BMW.

As one would expect from a quality german car - excellent. Running costs are high but relative to the type of car it is.

Had it 18 months and no issues other than tyres. Goes through tyres though it may be me enjoying it too much!!

Fantastic little car. Far more practical in Coupe form and couldn't be happier with it.
