Sat-navs are all the rage these days, but sometimes there is just no substitute for a decent map – such as the latest range from Philip’s.

Using fully updated resources from the firm’s digital database, all varieties for 2009 come with a clear three-miles-to-one-inch scale, fixed speed camera locations and major town and city plans.

The Driver’s Atlas also includes a route planner and distance table, and is available in A3 spiral-bound paperback format. The Road Atlas adds listings of mobile camera sites, maps of northern France, including the ferry ports, and the Map Easy accessory.

This comprises transparent route overlays and detachable place markers to help drivers plan progress. The Road Atlas is also A3-sized and spiral bound.
Finally, the maker’s Road Atlas Britain & Ireland, also updated for 2009, adds full Ireland mapping, including town and city plans. It is available in A3 and A4 formats.
