Reigning constructors’ champ Red Bull endured a disastrous start to 2014. It completed only a handful of laps at the first test in Jerez, Spain, thanks to overheating issues, electrical problems and poor reliability from Renault’s new turbocharged hybrid V6.

The team, based in Milton Keynes, Bucks, didn’t fare much better at the pre-season tests in Bahrain. Still, four-time champion Sebastian Vettel should be as relentless as ever, and while Daniel Ricciardo – replacing fellow Aussie Mark Webber – is making a big step up, he showed real potential at Toro Rosso.

Our verdict: Probably won’t be as dominant early in the year as it was last year, but expect Red Bull to make a strong recovery from its pre-season technical problems.
