The Toyota 2000GT was first introduced at the 1965 Tokyo Motor Show and represented a milestone in Japanese car production - it was one of the first cars with an attractive design to be coupled with great performance that would take the fight to western sports car manufacturers. However, the 2000GT's success didn't last long. It was overly expensive for a Japanese car at the time, and so only 351 were built - making it one of the rarest Japanese cars of all time.
This gallery is just a small selection of automotive prints available from Petrolified - a website selling artistic images of a wide range of classic, historic and inspiring cars. The aim behind Petrolified is to share not only the artwork with motoring enthusiasts, but also tell the stories behind the cars featured in the prints.
Petrolified is the brain-child of Martin Miskolci, a Slovakian car enthusiast who wants to share his passion for all things automotive. The first piece of artwork from Petrolified was the "Wall of Wheels", a print of a selection of the most memorable wheels from classic Japanese cars.
Now, the company has diversified and a huge range of prints are available of a whole host of cars - from the Mercedes 300SL to VW Camper and Ferrari F40. Prints start at €14.99 (£12) from the Petrolified online store. A small range of collections are available such as Vintage and Monochrome.
