Nothing says American car more than the huge finned designs of the 1950s. This Edsel wasn't just about looking good, inside it has three rows of seats, the rear two of which could be folded down. We're not sure why this is classed as a lemon though - it seems kinda cool.
As an antidote to the excessive wealth of the Pebble Beach and Monterey Car Week, owners of less glamorous and less valuable classics compete in the Concours D'Lemons.
Cars of any variety are welcome, though to really impress the judges they must either be ridiculed models such as the AMC Pacer, made infamous in the movie Wayne's World, or classics in un-cherished condition.
The judging process is equally tongue in cheek with competitors urged to bribe judges to gain a favourable score. So some cars are adored with gifts and even money: one car had a supposed $1,000,000 bill attached to its windscreen to curry favour.
