Ford Galaxy (old)

The Galaxy proves that if you’re after a large MPV, there’s no substitute for lots of room and a big boot. Owners even rate the running costs – which, given that only 50 per cent of you drove diesels, points to miserly maintenance rates. But reliability, braking, build quality and roadholding are all poor. Not enough owners of the new car completed the survey for it to chart.

MANUFACTURER VERDICT

Despite brilliant cars such as the Focus, Mondeo and S-MAX, you tell us that Fords are uncomfortable, slow and have poor brakes. Perhaps their showroom appeal just doesn’t last long.
