The Italian firm has invested time and money trying to dispel the myth that its cars are great to drive, but lacking in quality. Yet the 159’s scoresheet reveals some old problems.

Despite strong showings in the key driving dynamics categories – 21st for handling is a fine score – you told us the sharply styled machine is undone by its poor build quality and disappointing reliability.
