Volvo S60

The S60 has been awarded a set of results that suggest owners have a love/hate relationship with their cars.

On the plus side, you told us it is the most comfortable model money can buy.

Less impressively, the saloon body isn’t the most practical, while the handling is far from sporty.

However, your biggest gripe is the S60’s expensive running costs.

Comfort

When you get out of your car after a long journey, are you left doubled up in agony or feeling fresh and relaxed? Getting comfortable in your car is key to enjoying your driving. Models at the top of this chart are guaranteed to take the strain out of any journey. With an amazing score of 97.00 per cent, Volvo’s S60 is leagues ahead of the competition. The Swede’s seats strike the perfect balance between supporting your body when cornering, and providing just enough cushioning for long-distance comfort. The Lexus RX SUV and Skoda’s Superb also rate highly in this category. Nissan’s Note, Mitsubishi’s Colt and Ford’s Fiesta make up the bottom three – it seems small cars are the ones leaving you with aches and pains.

MANUFACTURER VERDICT

The Swedish brand has slipped again. You love the comfort and refinement of its cars, but aren’t so keen on how much they cost to run. The new range of eco-friendly DRIVe models will surely help.
