Delivering an astounding 456bhp from its 3.6-litre flat-six engine, this is the fastest production Porsche yet built. The GT2 is capable of sprinting from 0-60mph in only 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 196mph, and some would say it's best kept under lock and key.
But this car's visual impact is equally devastating. Huge 18-inch, foot-wide wheels are tucked into the bodywork, while the vast rear wing features extra air intakes to help cool the engine.
The £105,000 price tag is astonishing, too - but the GT2 aims to justify this with its performance, exclusivity and individuality. Our Club Sport trim test car features a stripped-out interior, with roll cage and bucket racing seats - a true caged animal, in fact!
Open the driver's door and it's clear you're looking at something special. While luxury has been sacrificed to keep weight down, the attention to detail and build quality are simply sensational. Slide behind the wheel and you are gripped firmly by the racing-style seats, embroidered with Porsche's logo.
Soundproofing has also been stripped out, and as you shut the door, the bodywork clangs. But the 3.6-litre unit is far from tinny. Fire it up and you're treated to the finest tone money can buy. Even at idle the GT2 instantly feels more aggressive than the standard 911. It's louder, the throttle response is crisper and the engine incredibly keen to rev.
Around town, the supple suspension absorbs potholes with ease. But it's on the open road that the GT2 shows its true colours. Press the throttle and it rockets forwards, the powerplant hurtling towards its 6,800rpm red line with ease.
On demanding tarmac, the Porsche needs a firm hand to keep it on the intended line. Push on through a bend and the nose washes wide as the front wheels lose their grip. But don't ignore this message, as the rear breaks away quickly if too much power is applied.
Most surprising, though, is the GT2's practicality. While close to being race ready, the 456bhp 911 really is comfortable enough to be used every day.
The most powerful production Porsche yet built - and also one of the most desirable. Its massive price tag ensures exclusivity but, more importantly, engineers have made the GT2 one of the most usable supercars ever. Supple suspension and figure-hugging seats mean it's genuinely comfortable to drive, while the effortless acceleration and great handling make mincemeat of long journeys.
