Like your muscle cars to have more style? Another Chrysler Group model has just got some SRT therapy. While the standard 300C is a dramatic-looking four-door with gutsy performance, the SRT-8 is a real supersaloon.
Blistering performance aside, the SRT-8 drives like the standard car. Its biggest flaw is its slow steering, which requires plenty of input, but returns a surprising amount of feedback
Using a tuned version of the same 6.1-litre V8 engine fitted to the Jeep the Chrysler gets an extra 5bhp, taking the total to 425bhp. The flagship 300C sprints from 0-60mph in five seconds flat, and can hit a BMW M5-beating 168mph. Thanks to its size, the powerplant still feels relatively unstressed, and delivery of all that pace is smooth and relentless.

The 300C’s chassis will leave keen drivers wanting a more involving drive, but the Chrysler offers a good blend of performance and comfort. At any speed, the SRT-8 feels heavy, but it oozes style, and no other luxury saloon can provide as much performance for the price.
