This is a highly advanced, complex car from a manufacturer that doesn't have a reputation for reliability.
One to avoid, I think, in spite of the competitive pricing.
Finally, someone has got around to mating an electric to a diesel motor to create a hybrid. As green cars go, this has to be a better way forward than all those petrol-electric hybrids.
What a shame this Peugeot is so damned ugly. If they fitted the drivetrain to the RCZ, they wouldn't be able to make enough of them.
Would have thought manufacturers would have done this before, why put a hybrid on a petrol car just to make it as economical as a diesel, well done Peugeot.
As for reliablity, Peugeot have moved leaps and bounds over the last 5 years, check facts. The Peugeot 207 is the most reliable car in Europe according to the RAC. Many manufacturers had problems in the 90's due to the introduction of multi-plexing, some kept it quieter than others but those days are long gone.
If you’re buying a hybrid, you want its technology to save you money, but when emissions top 100g/km, that’s simply not possible. For that reason, the 99g/km 3008 HYbrid4 is the version to go for. It’s not only the cheapest to buy, but also does the most to cut the cost of motoring. Our only criticism is that buyers can’t specify extras such as heated leather seats or larger alloys without moving up to a 104g/km model.
