Meet the Gallardo (pronounced Guy-ardo and named after a breed of fighting bull), the ΂£115,000 'baby' entry-level Lambo. Backed by the VW Group, the Italian firm has been able to innovate. FIRST OPINION

    With 4WD, aluminium construction and a thunderous V10, the baby Lamborghini is innovative and involving to drive - but not intimidating. While not as agile as the prancing horse, the Gallardo is a more usable supercar, every bit as fast and yet far more secure thanks to its extra traction. Life begins at 40 for Lamborghini.
