Nissan's Navara promises to set new standards in luxury when it hits UK roads this week. In top Aventura trim, it has ample electronic equipment, and most of the kit - including climate control, leather seats and satellite navigation - comes as standard. The versatile cabin holds five, and the rear seats flip up cinema style to improve load space, proving pick-ups are getting ever more family friendly.
The gutsy 2.5-litre diesel gives plenty of in-gear urge, with 403Nm of torque on tap from low revs. It is refined - for a pick-up - but the ride is too bouncy. This is not surprising, as the Navara can transport more than a tonne in its flat bed load area.
The price is tempting, though, with the entry-level models costing £17,231. The top-spec Aventura is £24,633 - a lot of money - but this is one of the best-equipped pick-ups on the market.
