Best tax-busting choices
The UK’s top-selling car is
also one of the most tax-friendly – but not all variants benefit from
the changes. Some petrol models will be hit hard: the 2.0-litre Zetec
jumps £50 in April and will endure another £10 increase in 2010.
Generally, all 1.6 TDCi Focuses will see a reduction in road tax next
year. So will some 1.8-litre diesels, while the 2.0 should remain
static. But the 88bhp 1.6 looks the best bet, as it has bags of torque.
Supply is plentiful, too.
