BMW 6-Series

Don’t be fooled – this may look like a regular BMW 6-Series but it’s much more than that! This is actually the all-new version, which we’ve spied undergoing winter testing for the first time.

The second surprise is that this is the new Convertible version, which as you can see, maintains the same folding canvas roof as its predecessor – and not a heavy and difficult-to-package CC-style metal roof.

With only mild updates to the body, including wider wheelarches, new front and rear lights and a revised bumpers, the new 6-Series won’t change much visually over the current car.

And it’s a similar story under the bonnet, with power coming from a 272bhp 3.0-litre straight-six cylinder unit for the 630, a 367bhp 4.8-litre V8 for the 650 and a 286bhp 3.0-litre turbodiesel for the 635d. Expect to see the new model in 2010.
