Cars don’t come bigger or brasher than the standard BMW X6, but that hasn’t stopped the German carmaker is taking it Coupe-SUV even further with an M-sport variant. And here are the pictures that prove it!
Side vents and quad-tipped exhausts giveaway the car’s identity, although BMW still refuse to confirm the X6 M’s existence. Built to compete with Porsche’s Cayenne Turbo S, Mercedes ML63 AMG and other high-performance crossovers, it will use a more powerful version of BMW’s twin-turbo 4.8-litre V8 producing over 500bhp. The X6 M is expected to go on sale before the end of the year.
And that’s not the only performance 4x4 on the horizon either – the X5 is getting the M-sport treatment too. Using the same powerplant as the X6 M, the X5 M will hit showrooms a few months after its less-practical sibling. A facelifted version of the standard X5 has been caught testing too – with only minimal camouflage highlighting the revised front and rear bumpers.
