Caught out in the cold, this is the faceelifted version of Mercedes' sixth generation S-Class. Spied here carrying out its final winter testing programme, these undisguised pictures give a clear look at what the new Merc will look like when it goes on sale later this spring.
From the pictures we can see a number of changes have taken place from the current model. They include; a new front skirt and fog lights, a revised bumper and new mirrors complete with new indicators.
It also appears the headlights will get a new layout. The indicators will now be at the bottom of the light, while LED daylight driving lamps will be fitted to the outer edges of the front lamps to help keep the luxury saloon up-to-date with its rivals.
Around back the rear bumper has also been redesigned and taillights without the coloured “metal” stripes will complete the facelift.
In terms of engines there are not expected to be any changes. So look out for the same mix of petrol and diesel units. With S63 and S65, 6.0-litre+, V12's at the top of the pile.
