It's completely roofless and aiming for the top – this is X-Bow! Produced by bike maker KTM, the X-Bow (pronounced cross-bow) has the Caterham Seven Superlight R500 in its sights with a vivid body and a host of carbon fibre components. Sales have already begun but this summer the firm will launch a new range-topping model called the X-Bow ROC. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, it's based on the Superlight, but boasts a sports exhaust and Race of
Champions badging to celebrate its appearance as one of the competition cars at Wembley Stadium last year.
Power comes from Audi’s 2.0-litre TFSI engine which is tuned to produce 237bhp, giving a 0-60mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 137mph. It's available in two trims, with the Superlight flagship getting a carbon fibre underfloor and a price tag well excess of £60,000 – some £10,000 more than the entry-level model.
The production run will be limited to 30 units, each costing around £60,000. KTM will also launch a new entry-level X-Bow Street this summer too, which is likely to be around £5,000 cheaper than the current version.Â
