Ford Focus RS

Rally-inspired bodywork, 300bhp and the legendary 'RS' badge...

Ford Focus RS

April 2009

What's left to say on the most talked about car of 2009? We were simply blown away when we got behind the wheel of Ford's flagship Focus back in February, and starting this week it could be coming to a driveway near you!

Chanelling 300bhp, from a modified version the Focus ST's five-cylinder engine,  through the front-tyres is risky business. But the boffins at Ford have miraculously managed to make it work, thanks largely to an innovative suspension architecture known as the Revo knuckle. And with of price tag of just £25,000, it's shaping up as the performance bargain of the decade.

The benchmark sprint from 0-62mph takes only 5.9 seconds. And if you are lucky enough to have your own runway, you can hit a top speed of 163mph.. . that's one fast Focus!
