April 2009

Scrappage becomes swappage! Toyota has extended the government scheme for another month to give the same £2,000 off, but this time for customers who cash in qualifying cars between seven and 10 years old for a new Yaris, Auris, Verso or Avensis. There are plain old discounts on most models, and better deals at the brokers.

Toyota Aygo

Toyota deals
Drive away a one-litre, higher-specced Blue for £9,045 with £450 off.

Scrappage
Get an extra £250 off a Blue, dropping the higher specced city car to £7,245 if you cash in a qualifying car before the end of Feb.

Toyota Yaris
Toyota deals
The supermini in TR and TS spec is cut by £700, and a decent 5.9% APR finance offer hands you a 1.0 TR 3dr for £179 a month over three years.

Scrappage & Swappage deals
The TR comes with an extra £500 of the standard £2,000 scrappage deal, or if your car is between seven and 10 years old and qualifies for Swappage, there’s £2,000 off until the end of March.

Marketplace deals
Good broker discounts available, for example Broadspeed’s £1,960 off a 1.3 TR 3dr, now at £10,024.

Toyota Auris

Toyota deals
There’s £1,300 off the Auris TR 1.33 petrol, now selling for £13,823.

Scrappage & Swappage deals
The Auris T2 1.33 gets another £1,000 off on scrappage, making £3,000 in total. Or if your trade-in car is between seven and 10 years old, there’s £2,000 off any Auris.

Marketplace deals
Best discounts are from the brokers, with Broadspeed knocking a 1.33 TR 5dr down by £3,407 to £12,226.

Toyota Verso

Toyota deals

The cash discount is £700 off any Verso until the end of March.

Scrappage & Swappage deals
Another £500 off on top of the £2,000 discount from scrappage until the end of Feb, or qualify for a £2,000 discount from Swappage until the end of March.

Toyota Avensis

Toyota deals
Best discount is £1,150 off TR and T4 grades, falling to £900 on T2 and £400 on T Spirit.

Scrappage & Swappage deals
Government scrappage savings are bumped to £2,750 on the TR and T4 grades, and £2,500 on T2. Those same savings also apply to Toyota’s Swappage scheme, whereby a qualifying car between seven and 10 years old is traded in.

Marketplace deals
Head to the brokers for the best discounts, eg Broadspeed’s £3,151 off a 2.0 D-4D TR Tourer, now at £17,970.
