Pull in at a Land Rover dealer with a 10-year-old car and you could drive off for less than £20,000. With the £2,000 scrappage incentive, the cheapest Freelander now sells for £19,295 and the Defender at £19,875.

Land Rover Freelander
The scrappage gets you a 2.2-litre TD4 S for £19,295, but do press for further discounts. The dealers are more than amenable at present.
Land Rover Defender
A cut of £2,000 brings the 90 Station Wagon just short of £20,000 at £19,295. The bigger 110 now starts at £22,190.
Land Rover Discovery
It’s a big trade-up, but for anyone who does so, the supremely comfortable Disco now starts at £28,190.
