Aston Martin Rapide

Aston's Porsche Panamera rival is ready to roll at Frankfurt.

Aston Martin Rapide

August 2009

It might seem like a familiar shape by now, but we still haven't seen official pictures of the production version of the Rapide. Those images are duie to break cover on 15 August, but in the meantime the grainy image shown here has been leaked onto the web.

Originating from an in-house brochure, it shows us the clearest view yet of the four-door-Rapide's luxurious cabin.

As you can see the layout comprises of four individual, lightweight bucket seats with the centre console splitting the cockpit stright down the middle.

TFT screens fitted into the back of the front seats keep the passengers entertained, while two-tone leather reminds occupants that this is first and foremost a sports saloon. Stretched underpinning from the DB9 take the Rapide to over five metres long - so there's a substantial boot in the back too.

Power comes from the DB9's 470bhp 6.0-litre V12 and a price tag of around £140,000 will place it below the DBS but above the DB9 in Aston's range.

Check back on August 15 when we'll have all the details and a full set of official images of Aston's new family-friendly supercar.
