The convertible R8 Spyder keeps the stunning looks of its hard-top sibling as well as the four-wheel drive, mid-engined set up that made it so successful.
The Spyder also uses the same V10, 5.2-litre engine from the flagship R8 coupe which puts out 518bhp and 391 lb ft of torque. A heavier, strengthened chassis means that performance figures are slightly down on the coupe, but only just; 0-60mph takes just 4.1 seconds and the top speed is 194mph.
Available in early 2010 prices will start at around £137,000
