Buyers with a keen eye for style and an eco-friendly attitude will find plenty to like about the DS3 DStyle 99g.
With its trendy lines and fuel-efficient running gear, it promises designer label desirability at high street prices.
Unlike most green cars, it’s virtually indistinguishable from other models in the line-up. There’s no wind-cheating bodykit, just a set of aerodynamic wheel trims and a wide range of colours and decals for personalising. The cabin is also carried over, with an eye-catching dash, decent space and generous standard kit. Mechanically, the DS3 is virtually identically to the C3 Airdream+. Its tweaked electronic control unit gives the 1.6-litre HDi cleaner emissions, while the five-speed box has taller ratios.
On the road the car has clearly been tuned for comfort, despite its sports suspension. Refinement is decent and the DS3 copes well with bumps – although it falls short of a MINI for driver fun. However, with its mix of French flair and 75mpg potential, the Citroen is perfect for owners who want to cut a dash while slashing their motoring bills.
