Customer satisfaction has become an art form at Skoda. The  firm was crowned Britain’s best car maker in Driver Power 2010, while its network of franchised showrooms picked up the silver medal in our dealer rundown. So no matter which model you choose, the ownership experience promises to be good.

Top performer in the Skoda line-up this year was the Octavia, which came third in our overall rankings. It is a brilliant all-rounder with competitive prices, lots of kit and VW-derived engines. The 1.4 TSI petrol and 2.0 TDI diesel are our picks, preferably in well equipped Elegance trim.
