With an all-new model on the horizon (Newsweek, Issue 1,163), it’s no surprise that Vauxhall is keen to clear stocks of the Astra Sport Hatch.
The upshot for buyers is that you can save a huge £5,915 before you’ve even spoken to a salesperson, as the price of the racy 1.6 SRi petrol has been slashed to £13,495.
If you’ve got an old motor to trade in, you’ll get a further discount of £1,500. While the Sport Hatch is getting on a bit, it still looks sharp and features plenty of desirable kit.

The 3door is old hat now and not built very well. The old model focus is a much better buy - better put together and far better to drive.
