Exceptionally practical, comfortable, inexpensive to run and blessed with an easy-going ride quality, Citroen’s new C4 Picasso scores some pretty good marks, including a top 10 placing for practicality.

Unfortunately, reliability and build quality – traditional Citroen shortcomings – were poor, with performance and handling also singled out for criticism.

A great, comfortable family wagon which still maintains some of those Citroen idiosyncracies, ie you're never quite sure if the switches will work or whether they will do what you expect. The ride is excellent making long journeys a breeze. The EGS gearbox is fine for relaxed motorway cruising but can get a little hairy when you accelerate hard, it kicks down a number of gears (then back up), makes a lot of noise but doesn't necessarily make any difference to the overtaking manouvere other than to delay whatever you were planning to do, unless you're very brave it's best to switch to the manual mode before overtaking

I bought this car just for continental holidays. The back seat comfort and luggage capacity were the prime criteria ad this was the best fit.
In the event, the ease of driving and fuel economy were so much better than my other car (Jaguar XJ6) became obsolete, so I sold it!
The Jaguars supurb high speed handling was much better than the C4, but this was not enough to pursuede me to keep it.

I am delighted with it'; it is great to drive on both short trips and long journeys, it is comfortable and, if I am the passenger, I can fall asleep easily if necessary.
Its economy is good, its insureance is reasonable and there are not of the adverse effects of a diesel

Very pleased with the whole car. The turn of speed from the 2lt engine through the 6 speed full automatic box has to be experienced to be believed. The ride is excellent and the brakes give you a secure feeling. Will be buying the same model in about a year.

When it works it's great - good for space / comfort - main difficulty is location of garage in different town to where I work and cost and inconvenience involved with 3 small children etc and only having a small window of opportunity on a Saturday morning

Comfortable, very economical and extremely practical, ticks all the boxes and the being automatic with an automatic hand brake system is ideal for my wifes artheritic thumb, which has problems in dealing with a conventional handbrake

The Grand C4 Picasso is so versatile - it can be a 7-seater minibus; it can be a large van with all the seats down; yet it drives like a normal hatchback. Can't find anything else that comes close to it for the money.

Very accomplished car with plenty of style, practicality and well bulit. The only real weak point is the suspension which needs to be firmer to stop the lurching and wallowing. Overall a great choice for the family.
