Striking Citroen C4 Cactus Aventure concept revealed

A more extreme version of the Citroen C4 Cactus, called the Aventure concept, has been showcased at Geneva

This is the Citroen C4 Cactus Aventure concept. It’s a striking, off-road-inspired interpretation of the recently revealed C4 Cactus, and it has just debuted at the Geneva Motor Show alongside the standard model on which it is based.

Changes for this new concept include raised suspension and extended wheel arches, which will help accommodate the bulkier off-road tyres. Citroen has also given the Aventure concept a metal bullbar at the front, covered in protective padding. A bespoke roofbox complete with built-in spotlights has also been added.

If the addition of all the off-road goodies weren’t enough, Citroen has also decorated the Aventure concept in a striking white and yellow paintjob, with matching camouflage decals.

However, the concept is likely to remain just that - there is no indication that the Aventure concept will be put into production.

The standard C4 Cactus will make it to showrooms, however. The model has set the template for future C-line Citroens, which will offer increased space and practicality but with significantly reduced running costs thanks to clever packaging and weight reduction.

Such a shame it's only a concept. I could see a healthy market for this. 4WD would have been even better.

Does anyone else think they should have dropped the C4 bit of the name? To me it pointlessly links it to a rather dull model in the Citroen line up. Plain Citroen Cactus would be better. Or C-Cactus.

I reckon if the Cactus does well, they'll end up dropping the standard C4 altogether. Wouldn't be at all surprised.
