Position in the Top 100 cars - 53rd

If ever there was a tale of highs and lows, it’s the C5. Owners love its smooth ride, and both hatchback and estate get the thumbs-up for practicality. But reliability is poor. Nearly 60 per cent of owners have reported a problem in the last three years, and almost a third of faults were related to electronics. Let’s hope the new C5 fares better.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position - 28th)

It may be the best-placed French firm, but you say Citroens are unreliable, badly built, slow and have awful handling. The new C5 can’t come quick enough – let’s hope it can improve things.
