Overall Average Rating: 77.96%
Position in the Top 100 cars: 96th

Having never been higher than 75th in Driver Power, the previous Fiesta’s 89th in 2009 isn’t a wholly unexpected result.

Despite the model being such a big seller, it’s a little curious that so many owners lack enthusiasm about their cars.

Decent scores for running costs and handling help brighten the Fiesta’s results sheet, but low votes for comfort and brakes undo much of the good work.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position: 21st)

Having made progress in 2008, Ford has dropped back again this year. It’s 12 places higher than rival Vauxhall, and its cars are rated for practicality and handling. Yet owners’ main gripe is reliability.

I enjoy driving my car as its very sturdy and planted. Though it may not be the most technologically advanced car, it handles brilliantly and steering gives you the feeling of being connected to the road, unlike many cars today that detaches you from the driving experience.

The 1.25l engine that comes with the might not be much, but it has impressive accelaration,(mind you this maybe 0-30 figures and on a flat road) but because you are so connected with the car through the steering wheel and the three pedals, you feel as though you're one with the car thus moving in a similar fashion.

I have a 58 plate Ford Fiesta ST and it is a brilliant car for the money. Handling is excellent, performance is good, my only slight complaints are it could do with more power and it uses more petrol than I thought it would. However this is probably to do with how much I press my right foot down! Driving it never fails to bring a smile to my face and I think Ford are missing a big trick by not including an ST in the new Fiesta model range.

An exceptional car that handles anything that is thrown at it. It has absolutely perfrect handling and has all the technology and equipment that I require in a car. The fact that the rear seats do not entirely fold flat is a niggle but nothing more. The suspension is firm enough to give confidence when driving but not so firm that it jars. Very good quality trim and does not appear to be giving any untoward rattles.

Absolutely fantastic family hatchback. Could not ever want anything better from a car this size that costs this much. The styling is modern, the economy and running costs are as expected. Its performance is perfectly adequate for this size car. The handling of the focus is not what you would expect from a Ford of this size and value.
Would buy them for the whole of my life if i could.

Absolutely love the little Fiesta, nippy little car for around town and can handle it's own on the motorways although the 1.6 diesel engine could really benefit from having a 6th gear.

Only minor problem to date have been the passenger door electric window switch keeps popping out of the door card but as it's usually only one person in the car, it doesn't bother me a huge amount.

For its age its a great little runaround, very economical and nippy. it hardly ever needs work doing, just the usual stuff they do at the service. its only downsides are the size, the road holding around corners feels a bit insecure and the brakes are a little spongy, otherwise it just seems to keep going, every time i think about replacing it!

the only criticism I have of this car is that to attain the manufactures fuel consumption figures of 82 miles per gallon on an extra urban cycle you would need the assistance of paul daniels otherwise I am more than satisfied and will probably by the same model the fiesta 1.4 zetec tdci again

This is by far the best all round car that i have owned the Fiesta is a great car to drive it handles brilliantly great car to drive and crisp gearbox only small criticism in this model is the bland interior which has been put right in new model

Having owened the car from new exellent, love new design and for being a 1.25cc engine great performence, overall comfort very good however that wee handle you have to pump up and down for height ajustment on side of drivers seat what a pain.

It has surprised me with its handling, reliability & performance. Fords seem to be disliked by so many people, but I cant see why. This one has been well put together, is very reliable, & does everything a small car should do. Spot on Ford!

My Fiesta Zetec-S is nice to drive and relatively economical, although its not the fastest car out there. for the price it performs and handles well, is great fun to drive without costign the earth to buy or run

Other than the initial issues with the console screen going off nothing much. I do think that they should fit Traction Control as standard though and up-rate the brakes a bit.
Otherwise, I love it.

Fiesta ST is fun to drive and offers as much real world performance as you really need. Much better than hugely overrated Clio 197. Only disappointment that Ford has yet to make a new Fiesta ST.

Excellent supermini - particularly impressive steering, handling and cornering - I just wish that I'd gone for a larger-engined version - not the (very smooth) but slow 1.25L.

Superb, swapped Mini Cooper S for Fiesta Zetec S - chassic 100% better in exery respect - handling better, no torque steer and ride quality miles ahead despite 17" rims

On the whole happy, with some monor issues re durability of cabin trim - seat cover, cigarette lighter, interior light and air vents have all broken.
