    New 'VTR' Micra Muscles In

    The most powerful production Nissan Micra is on its way. Bosses have confirmed a 110bhp, 1.6-litre variant will go on sale in the summer. It's the first time the supermini has ever been fitted with a petrol engine that large.     Merc Lifts Lid On New Diesels

    If ever there was proof of the oil-burning revolution, these two cars are it. For the first time, Mercedes' SLK and SL convertibles have been given diesel power. Featuring three turbochargers, the AMG-bodied SLK is badged the 320 CDI Tri-turbo. The 3.0-litre two-seater uses a modified version of the maker's new V6 diesel powerplant to generate 282bhp and 630Nm of torque.
