Wind-in-the-hair motoring combined with frugal fuel economy is being offered to BMW drivers for the first time. The German firm will unveil a new 3-Series Convertible diesel at this month's Paris Motor Show. The 2.0-litre oil-burner returns 44.8mpg, but still hits 60mph from rest in 9.7 seconds, and goes on to a top speed of 131mph.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that this striking supercar was the work of one of the prestigious Italian styling houses. But it isn't - this is the Le Mans CL-1, and it has been created by a Japanese designer who wishes to remain anonymous. We can't work out why, as the high-performance machine is stunning!
