That the Accord shoulders aside more expensive cars such as the BMW 3-Series and Audi A4 is a testament to its depth of abilities.

Disappointing brakes aside, it scores with top-drawer reliability, cabin comfort and build quality. But it still has a long way to go to match the third place it achieved back in 2005 – the highest rating scored by any Accord to date.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position: 5th)

Bosses will be concerned to see Honda drop two places in the manufacturer chart. The Top 100 podium eluded the Accord and Civic, so all hope will rest on the latest Jazz boosting the firm’s ranking next year.

The only thing that went wrong was a dodgy window washer nozzle on the passenger side, in 80,000 miles. And it's just gone again!

The voice activated phone is terrible but I think that's down to road noise and a microphone tucked away in the plastic headlining. I'd change that if was buying it again.

I only change beacuse I get bored and don't tend to buy the same car again twice, why would you when there are so many others to buy! The only car we bought a second one of was a P38 Range Rover running LPG, those were great with the exception of suspension problem and a head gasket I had to replace, easy fix though.

Really pleased with it. Really big and comfortable, the boot could do with a little more space, and the opening isnt very big, but have done 10, 000 miles and only had to change a sidelight bulb. Will definately buy another Honda in the future

Car has been a practical family car. Rear seat legroom is poorer than I would have expected, and cost of replacement tyres high, which is why running costs has been marked down. Performance is good and dealer service excellent

Very reliable, drives well, spacious. Seats could be more comfortable. Never got close to the quoted fuel economy. Ultimately I am replacing it with something that has higher comfort and performance.
