Overall Average Rating: 88.06%
Position in the Top 100 cars: 16th

That the Accord shoulders aside more expensive cars such as the BMW 3-Series and Audi A4 is a testament to its depth of abilities.

Disappointing brakes aside, it scores with top-drawer reliability, cabin comfort and build quality. But it still has a long way to go to match the third place it achieved back in 2005 – the highest rating scored by any Accord to date.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position: 5th)

Bosses will be concerned to see Honda drop two places in the manufacturer chart. The Top 100 podium eluded the Accord and Civic, so all hope will rest on the latest Jazz boosting the firm’s ranking next year.

My Accord Tourer Type-S is an absolute blast to drive, it handles large bulky items with ease. The only major problem I've had to date is when I first bought it - the 3yr manufacturer's warranty had expired and the power-tailgate motor failed. Although I had to pay for a couple of hours labour at the main dealer, this was a fraction of the cost of the new part (£600+) that Honda paid for. It is a bit thirsty round town but driven sensibly on the motorway I can get very close to the extra-urban mpg from it. To sum up, I am very pleased with my Accord Tourer.

A reliable car with a very pokey diesel, which leaves very little to hanker for in the performance department. The car is an estate, which has an excellent load area, which is, sadly, not as practical in the new version. The problems I've had are with a sticky dirvers side window and a windscreen washer nozzle getting blocked. Of more concern, though, is what appears to be a very soft paint finish, which has not stood much in the way of mild abuse, even around the passager door handles.

The Accord Estate is a cracking car, which I recommend to anyone who'll listen. Its my first diesel and its the best performing car I've ever had. I've been driving since 1961 and owned over 50 cars, all at under £2000, in fact most at under £1000, then paid £5000 for this Honda. A tank full costs £53 approx. ( Dec 2009 ), and that gives me 550 miles approx. Only fault...hard acceleration in 2nd produces some pollution.

This is the best car I have ever owned. It is very easy to drive, has an automatic gearbox, very comfortable, great handling and very smart to look at. It has leather heated front seats, leather rear seats and inside climate control. It also came with built in Sat Nav which has been invaluable. Brilliant and doesn't cost the earth to run either.

Very attractive styling, silky smooth & quiet motor, slightly thirsty on very short runs but good economy on longer distances.Good safety features, great towing performance, excellent sound system, very good ride/handling . Nice quiet touring car, would certainly buy a later model of the same make when replacement needed.

Fantastic car to driver, great performance & handling. The engine is as happy driving around below 5000 rpm as it is when your using the Vtec at over 5500rpm.
The interior is as good a condition as it was new, no parts falling off or noise when your driving along. Yon can't even tell its now over 10 years old

My car is a brand new Honda Accord Type `S` Tourer which I rate above Audi A4 Tourer and BMW 3 series Tourer. Better value for money inasmuch as most extras are included as standard on the Honda whereas they cost extra on the Audi and BMW. Performance is far superior as well.

Honda Accord Type-S... So far it's been great, rides kinda firm and precise, but is not uncomfortable in any way; build quality and reliability are first rate... it's got decent performance and handling... makes a lovely noise too... ;-)

It is one of, if not, the best car I have ever owned. It manages to combine strong performance - giving me acceleration when needed - with superb economy. I would recommend Honda and the Accord to anyone.

My car is an Accord Tourer and it has been a pleasure to own (from new). Servicing costs have not been excessive and my Honda dealer has always provided me with excellent service (Steels of Hereford)

This is the BEST car I have ever owned. It has NEVER let me down in almost six years - the only time it needs a garage is for its yearly service.
