Honda Accord Running Costs
Overall Average Rating: 88.06%
Position in the Top 100 cars: 16th
That the Accord shoulders aside more expensive cars such as the BMW 3-Series and Audi A4 is a testament to its depth of abilities.
Disappointing brakes aside, it scores with top-drawer reliability, cabin comfort and build quality. But it still has a long way to go to match the third place it achieved back in 2005 – the highest rating scored by any Accord to date.
Manufacturer Verdict (Position: 5th)
Bosses will be concerned to see Honda drop two places in the manufacturer chart. The Top 100 podium eluded the Accord and Civic, so all hope will rest on the latest Jazz boosting the firm’s ranking next year.

I have a 2.2 diesel Tourer, which nis a very comfortable and relaiable cruiser. It is not as economic s I would like - bioth fuel economy (5 speed gearbox) and tyre wear are disappointing. The only time it has let me down is when the handbreake failed and I am now wary of this and keep it in gear when parked. The othe disappointing area is demisting in very cold weather. I would only not buy the current model as the Tourer is smaller than mine, the clever rear sear folding mechanism and electric tailgate have been removed.

Service and parts expensive. Brilliant engine and economy. Not the best tow-car; twitchy with caravan behind and very susceptible to crosswinds, which can be felt when not towing. Not an involving drive; I miss the Peugeot 406 for that quality. Competent but uninspiring.

Very well engineered car. No discernable slackness in handling or steering even after 80,000 miles. Engine brilliant.
Only failure ever has been air-con compressor, and that was very expensive @ £1,000.00 to replace.
Better overall than BMW's I have owned.

Good points refinement, comfort and reliability.
Bad points, disappointing fuel economy for a deisel car of this size, poor luggage space and the voice activated hands free phone is infuriatingly difficult to programme and use.

Great car, no reason to change it as the only things it doesn't have are memory seat settings (I share the car with my wife) and a rear windscreen wiper. I would prefer a diesel but that version is not available.

Very pleased with car. Carries substantial loads in conform. Could be quicker but then there was the option of the 2.4l engine but that would have cost too much to run

A first class "set of wheels", only let down by rather too much road noise. Very lively performance with surprisingly good economy.

The Accord is a fantastic car. I still find myself looking at it when it's nice & clean. Could have done with an aux socket though.

First Honda - I was, and continue to be, astonished at how good a car it is. And that's after years of owning BMWs, VWs, etc.
