Position in the Top 100 cars: 11th

The outgoing Jazz retires with some strong credentials. It’s never dropped out of the top 10 until now – unsurprising given its build quality, reliability and running costs.

And its practicality is second only to Land Rover’s Discovery. Honda says it’s addressed ride, handling and performance in the new model. We’ll find out next year…

Manufacturer Verdict (Position: 5th)

Bosses will be concerned to see Honda drop two places in the manufacturer chart. The Top 100 podium eluded the Accord and Civic, so all hope will rest on the latest Jazz boosting the firm’s ranking next year.

Many claim about the hard ride - but I love it. It reminds me of the Honda Type R I had on 2003.

Because I circumstances I partx this for a Honda Civic IMA Hybrid which was reasonable on economy for those days but this Jazz is better than it on fuel economy overall.

I traded my Hybrid in for the Jazz because, once again due to circumstances. I needed an automatic with fuel economy, reasonable performace (I'm not a Formula 1 Driver after all) and who cares if I gets to my destination a few minutes earlier, afterall I'm not going to impress anyone by acting like a mad fool on the road, endangering everyone (including myself) - I much prefer to get there safely, as fresh as a daisey with aircon etc, in o ne piece and with my license in tacked.

It has all the mod cons, plenty of storage room especially when you but down the rear seats and overall a very good little run about - I would definitely recommend to any one.

So, aprt from the carpets wearing out (replaced under Warranty) this car has been brilliant. It's used as my driving school car and my wife also drives a Honda Jazz and they hav both proved to be trouble free. Between us we have 150,000 miles on the clocks without any trouble. Recently the stearing on my car has seemed to change but this they say is a feature of the vehicle at this mileage 73.5K. Hey ho.

Very good car spoilt by a lousy automated manual gearbox. This gearbox does not work well with the 1.4 engine. The car should have had a full automatic gearbox. My previous Jazz with the CVT box performed much better. Also, the new Jazz was supposed to be in a low tax band but failed to met CO2 emissions, hence now 128 graded. Honda might as well bring in the 1.6 Jazz into the country with a Auto box.

Well built and good finish. i bought the EX 1.4 iShift I'm sure the electronics are very clever, but in the lower gears it doesn't change up v quickly enough, the engine revs away and when you lift off the gas it can go from 1st to 4th missing 2nd & 3rd it also takes it time to get into 6th
perhaps the manual is a better drive, I think i will go back to Nissan!!

The Jazz is an excellent vehicle, but my only wish is that the ventilation system would work better. In summer, the A/C is not cold enough, and in winter, it is impossible to keep all the windows demisted. Honda say 'it's up to specification'. For this reason, I will not buy another one without fully checking the system's efficiency.

An excellent town runabout and fairly comfortable for long distances too. Performance is generally adequate and driving experience is good although not quite as relaxed as a larger car. Carrying capacity is really excellent for a car of this size.

Bought it after reading the reviews and the car has performed just as they said it would. Only annoyance is was that I did not expect at 2nd MOT and 35k miles, the car to require front and rear disc rotors and brake pads because of rust.

Has performed well and equipment and comfort are good for the size of car, but I have been a little dissapointed in the fuel consumption figures, because even with careful driving I cannot achieve the quoted figures

Bit slow, but for such a small car I am amazed it can fit the same family of 4 and luggauge that we used to get in our Accord. Plus there is more room in the back for the girls than the old Accord.

Great little car, very versatile and a real Tardis when it comes to load carrying.
This is my second one so have been driving a Jazz for around 7 years, and can see no reason to change

This is my second HONDA JAZZ and my experience with both cars has meant that it would be difficult to imagine another car giving me the same degree of satisfaction.

A clever package but more suited as a city car. That said though it is not the easiest one to park given the steep sloping bonnet.
