Overall Average Rating: 88.98%
Position in the Top 100 cars: 11th

The outgoing Jazz retires with some strong credentials. It’s never dropped out of the top 10 until now – unsurprising given its build quality, reliability and running costs.

And its practicality is second only to Land Rover’s Discovery. Honda says it’s addressed ride, handling and performance in the new model. We’ll find out next year…

Manufacturer Verdict (Position: 5th)

Bosses will be concerned to see Honda drop two places in the manufacturer chart. The Top 100 podium eluded the Accord and Civic, so all hope will rest on the latest Jazz boosting the firm’s ranking next year.

I purchaded this car from Geo.Collins Honda dealer in Herstmonceux, East Sussex Part exchanging My Honda IMA Hybrid a manual car to this Jazz an automatic for medical reason. I am extremely happy with both the car and George Collins (Honda) Ltd who were fanastic!

In fact I am very happy with all the cars I have purchased from them -all being Honda - Honda Civic Type R, Honda IMA (Hybrid and now a Honda Jazz.

The Jazz is exactly as I thought it would be, reliable, very practicable, economical to run (on par with my Honda IMA if not better) and I for one like both the hard ride the steering (similar to the type), that I understand many are complaining about? Positive steering and road holding would not be as good if the suspension was softened up to accomadate those that dislike this firm ride.

Overall I amk extremely please with the car, as I have been with all the Honda's I have owned.

The car itself is great. It has a number of niggling annoyances though.
1/ There are 5 warning bleeps if you don't have your seatbelt on when the ignition is switched on.
2/ There are warning bleeps for many things. One day I had a warning bleep for :- no seatbelt on, one for service required, one for frosty conditions and one for low fuel all within the first two minutes of getting in the car.
2/ The Variable Service warning came on (oil change) at 5600 miles instead of 12500 miles like it is supposed to - Honda paid for this though after an email. Variable servicing is a potential large issue with this car.

This is my third Jazz, the car is everthing I want. It is the right size for the 1.4litre engine, practical, adaptable, economic, versatile & the build quality is good, its a Honda.
I have very few negative comments I would like to see better quality carpets, a larger clutch foot rest like the civic`s to avoid wear on the carpets, a 6 speed manual gearbox the 6th gear being high ratio to reduce engine revs when cruising from 60 mph plus, the road speed to engine revs ratio is high, if this was lower it would further enhance fuel economy. Many car makers have 6 speed as standard.

Our 3rd Jazz and the best yet. We're not typical Jazz owners as we are in our early 40s with 2 children aged 12 and 10. The Jazz is our main car and with such a huge boot and fold flat seats we don't see the need to get anything bigger. Our previous Jazzs have taken us to France on a number of occasions and we can get everything into the car without the need for roof racks etc. Very pleased that our new Jazz has more grown up features like cruise control and traction control and the children love the glass roof !

If this car was a person it would be my Mum. I can rely on it getting me comfortably to work when I'm bleary in the morning, de-stress me during shopping trips, very economical, a head turner in the car park. Not so keen on the electronic bleeps and bongs, but doesn't stop me recommending others from buying one.

A really well built, incredibly practical and economic car, its pace has saved me a fortune in speeding fines, the gearbox fault was down to my bad habit of driving with my hand on the gear lever, won't be doing that any more.

An excellent all round good car, ride could be a little better. Servicing costs are rather high. Economy good, performance good. Interior space and versatility excellent for size of car. Would recommend to many people.

Apart from the clock losing a minute a week the car has performed faultlessly returning 50 mpg on motoway and dual carriageway and 60 mpg on long "normal" road journeys. What more can you ask for?

Delighted with the car. On a motorway at 50mph fir 14 minutes (ie reasonably steady driving) the performance was 54.6mpg. Even with quite a lot of short journeys in town it does about 35mpg.

Exceptionally practical car with very good economy for a petrol car, and tremendously reliable. It is really surprising how much can be carried in the car with its virsatile seat layouts.

This is the i-shift version which is great once you adapt to it, but still requires development for smoother changes in low gear.
