Jeep special editions

Mopar gets hands on the Jeep Wrangler to produce two wild special editions.

Chrysler’s in-house tuning car arm Mopar is to work its muscle car magic on the Jeep Wrangler. Its released two sketches showcasing two special editions it plans to launch later this month at the annual Moab Jeep Safari in Utah.

The black and gold emblazoned Renegade is a slightly higher riding Wrangler sporting a noticeably large bonnet bulge.  There aren’t any details on the engines or performance figures just yet, but we suspect that extra space under the hood means they’ve squeezed in one of their Hemi V8 engines. That would give the little 4x4 at least 360bhp, which is plenty of power to kick up dust on all terrains.

Mopar’s other Wrangler concept is unusually named Pork Chop. Ironically, it is a stripped down, lightweight buggy, with bright red racing bucket seats, a roll cage instead of a roof and chunky off-roading tyres, we look forward to seeing images of the finished models at the Jeep Safari which runs from 16th to 24th April.
