Production Estoque saloon and a crossover are under development at Lamborghini – but which would you choose?

Supercar builder Lamborghini is set to return to its roots - with new saloon and crossover cars it says will be launched by 2014.

Inspired by Porsche, which has enjoyed success with its Cayenne and Panamera models, Lamborghini
is reported to be running two prototypes already – one crossover and one saloon.

A decision on which will be made first will be part of celebrations for the company’s 50th anniversary, in 2013.

Lamborghini has already shown the Estoque saloon concept at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and any production model will likely take cues from the four-door show-car.

Power will come from the 552bhp V10 used in the Gallardo, with power delivered to all-four wheels.

According to our sources, the crossover model gets a sporty, coupe-inspired look, much like the BMW X6. Unlike the BMW though, it will be two-door only and could ride on the same platform as the Porsche Cayenne.

Which car do you think should be built? Or should Lamborghini just stick to making exotic supercars? Leave your comments below.

...bit less of a chiselled front, perhaps? Discreet, yet menacing.

Yes? Not good memories, I am sure

Do them both Lambo. Hypercars like Gallardo and Aventador are for the eyes not for the road. And so was the dune-monster LM002. Put top of the bill mechanical core into a practical shell - the key for conquering the streets.

Estoque. Definitely. SUVs look like desktop printers.

Lamborghini making SUVs sounds like a great idea to me, now owned by VW Audi this time they will get it right if previous Lambos are to go by, can't wait to put my order in, V12 off road monster for me please.

Same here I love the Estoque too then the SUV

THIS CAR IS AMAZING!! IT LOOKS LIKE AN F22 RAPTOR........WITH WHEELS.

I think Lambo would be shooting itself in the foot with another SUV but the Estoque would serve them well. Perhaps a more sensible engine though?
