2012-reg Diesel, Owner for less than a year

No breakdowns first 25,000 miles; 2 engine warning lights and limp home mode events which cleared. irritating habit of, for no reason, both electronic handbrake failing to release and eco stop-start not working for no clear reason. Average 40mpg, worst 34mpg, best 46mpg. nowhere near claimed 62mpg by a considerable distance. almost so far off it, practically a trades description act issue.

Nothing major wrong with the car. a few rattles and some problems with the information system which sometimes has to be rebooted to work. reverse camera also slower to work than I would like (5 seconds or more to work after reverse is engaged). Fuel economy is worse than I expected and not much better than the freelander it replaced.

First 6 months have been trouble free apart from the hassle of sorting out a puncture the first time you realise there is no spare wheel. As this is a company car all costs are covered, however ł200 for a tyre make you realise this could be an expensive car to run.

A couple of niggly problems (noisy driver's front seat, delay in reverse camera operating). The landrover diesel engine is still not one of the best for economy. the best we have acheived is 45.00mpg on a long drive but usually it's around 25-28 in mixed driving.

One visit to garage for persistent condensation in a rear light cluster. fixed on first visit. A fair bit lower mpg than claimed (about 15% lower than land rover claim for the model). but overall good for a 4 wheel drive suv.

A number of trim issues, that shouldnt be seen on a car costing over ł35k+. Mgp is no where near the manufactures figures, this is the most disappointing aspect of the car.

Showed a stability control error while on motorway. turned engine off and on again and error dissappeared. Gets approx 35 mpg around town. 50 mpg on motirway.

Very reliable hasn't missed a beat since buying it. I thought the mpg would be a lot lot better. not getting anywhere near the stated 40mpg.
