Prices announced for the new Lexus RC F range

UK prices for the new Lexus RC F coupe have been released , following its debut at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year

Lexus has revealed pricing information for the new RC F Coupe, which is on sale now priced from £63,900. The facelifted version of the firm’s BMW M4 rival was unveiled at this year’s Detroit Motor Show with a range of chassis, styling and drivetrain updates.

Lexus’s updated RC F is powered by a reworked version of the outgoing model’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8, fitted with a revised intake system and more rigid engine mounts. At 457bhp and 520Nm, power is down 14bhp compared with the previous RC F due to stricter WLTP emission and economy rules, while torque has dropped by 10Nm.

Despite the horsepower deficit, Lexus claims the new RC F offers better performance than the old model. Thanks to a lower final drive ratio (3.13 in comparison to 2.92), a new electronic launch control system and a reduced kerb weight, the Japanese firm claims it will sprint from 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds – a 0.2 second improvement than the old model.

Styling updates include fresh front and rear lights, new daytime running lamps, a reworked radiator grille and an updated front splitter. Lexus has worked with Michelin to develop a unique set of Pilot Sport 4S tyres to help the rear-wheel drive RC F puts its power down.

Buyers have a four-model line-up to choose from, the flagship of which is the hardcore RC F Track Edition. Priced from £79,900, this adds Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, 19-inch BBS alloy wheels, a titanium exhaust, a fixed carbon fibre rear wing and carbon fibre composite replacements for the front splitter, bonnet, roof, rear bulkhead and bumper reinforcement.

The RC F Track Edition produces the same 457bhp as the standard car, but the extensive use of carbon fibre means the weight is down by between 70–80kg, which should improve performance and handling slightly. Interior upgrades include red leather sports seats, Alcantara upholstery and carbon fibre trim for the doors and dash.

A further two trim levels will be available, including the Lexus RC F Track Pack, priced at £72,650, which adds the suspension and braking upgrades from Track Edition to the standard car, minus the carbon fibre panels. The RC F Carbon Edition, priced at £69,900, is a styling pack that adds the Track Edition’s carbon fibre bonnet, splitter and rear wing.
